Big Trip Day 10 (Rotorua, Waitomo, and Auckland)

Today we had another cereal breakfast at the hotel and packed up.  We popped over to Starbuck's in downtown Rotorua to pick up a collectable New Zealand mug and drove 2 hours to Waitomo Caves.  We had a $65 Subway lunch there.  I had booked the 3:00 cave tour.  The tour is 1 hour of the caves and a magnificent boat ride of the tens of thousands of glowworms on the ceiling.  You cannot take photographs once inside...understandable for the glowworms, not so much on the dry side.  I snagged a picture from the internet.  We opted not to share the photo of Parker we took after he ran into the side of the cave...leaving a bloody gash.

We drove 3-1/2 hours to the Auckland airport, where we checked into the budget-friendly Ibis Budget hotel.  (Picture to appear in 8 days on our return.)  Jeremy returned the car and we had dinner across the street at Carl's Jr.
