Valentine's Day

Short version:  It was celebrated this year.  The end.

Long version:  Jeremy arrived home the night before from the Maldives.  He was just minutes before Allison coming in from Laos.  Sarah had worked at the Teen Center until about 9, so that her colleague could take a weekend trip to Bali.  Sarah had woken up that morning with a sore throat, and by the evening, was ready to curl up in a ball on the floor at work.  She met both at the airport at 11 p.m. with a fever and the shivers.  Jeremy went to ballet classes with the Madison and McKenna on Saturday (Valentine's) morning.  Sarah slept.  Jeremy went grocery shopping in the afternoon.  Sarah slept.  Sarah had booked 8 p.m. massages at a favorite location with the intention to grab a very casual meal right before.  Dinner was interrupted by a work instruction to send off an e-mail (lovely little investigation report on the case from the Maldives that actually needed to go straight to the Pentagon immediately).  Sarah was glad Jeremy didn't buy any flowers--outrageous prices, and got shoo-ed off before snapping away on the expensive arrangements--but was interested in the "i love you" floor cleaner smell.  Sarah and Jeremy handed each other their gifts (red pearls from the Maldives and a new tie from Land's End) still wrapped in plastic and newspaper.  Sarah and Jeremy shared a bite of a cronut (combination croissant and donut) and went home...so that Sarah could sleep, which she continued to do through most of Sunday.
