1. We stopped along the route to drive through Robertson to get a view of Stewart Island--more sheep!
2. We stopped at McCracken's Rest to see the waves and shoreline.
3. We snapped a couple pictures of the mountains we were getting ready to go to.
4. We arrived in Te Anau by 2:00 with it's beautiful lake, where we flew kites and fed birds and ducks.
5. We checked in to the Red Tussock Motel (just across the street from the lake and a very short walk into the main part of town) and caught up on a little bit of laundry.
6. We had dinner at The Moose (which was fine) for NZ $100 and a free drinks coupon.
7. The kids played mini-golf for $16.
8. We ordered 2 large and 4 small gelato's outside an Italian restaurant for $30.
