Two Artists

Saturday afternoon we went to an art gallery in a warehouse in the "city" part of Singapore.  All the Kindergarteners, fourth graders, and fifth graders at our school have been studying Aboriginal Art.  The artist who started the recent, modern version of that has also been studied by them as well as having his artwork displayed in this gallery.  Our school then had the student's artwork also displayed for viewing over two different weekends.

Some of the pieces that the students studied and used as a guideline to reproduce:
Parker's namecard and artwork, plus the rest of his class:

The piece of artwork that Parker's class used for inspiration was not hanging up, but they had the story behind it printed up to read about:
Madison's namecard, artwork, grouping, and class artwork:

The background and the original were hanging in the gallery for Madison's inspirational piece:

They thought it was pretty cool to have their work displayed somewhere professional and were quite proud of the idea!
