We have our very own, personal ice cream man! I don't even know his real name and am not sure that too many others do either. But, I still think we'd all recognize him elsewhere if were to run into him!
There is a place near the middle of the neighborhood where the beginning of our street and the beginning of the sidewalk to the back gate of the school converge together and with the main neighborhood road. Every single day (well, except during monsoon season when he's a little hit or miss) he sits at this corner about 10 or so minutes before school gets out (doesn't he have a corner on the market, or what?). His "shop" is connected to his motorcycle. Have yet to see him driving down the road with it...
He sells all kinds of flavors: chocolate, strawberry, banana, durian, corn, etc., etc. For SG$1 you can get a "brick" (rectangular cut slab) in between two wafers, a "brick" inside a plastic cup, or a couple good healthy scoops inside a waffle cone. Friday is our day every week. On somedays, if you are not out of school early, you.should.see.the.line.
Will have to remember to learn his name. He charges a fantastic price and is very, very nice--full of smiles.
