Day 2--Pura Gunung Kawi in Bali

After the Elephant Cave, we ventured on to Pura Gunung Kawi or "Poet's Mountain" or "Valley of the Kings."  It is on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.  It was built in the 11th Century also.  We walked down this road lined with houses and shops.  Sarah, Allison, and Madison bought their own sari's.  McKenna wanted something too, so we got her a simple, straight hot pink cotton dress with a thin crocheted top.

 Down we go again, this time through the rice paddies and irrigation:

 Here we were encouraged to sprinkle water upon us to "cleanse our minds":

Upon arrival (and yes, there were A LOT of steps) this was on our left:

 We crossed the river (and were soooo happy to be here) and stuck our hands in:
