Kuala Lumpur--Day 1

On Wednesday, January 2, we left on a "little" road trip.  One of the few we will do in this area.  We planned a trip to Langkawi, Malaysia.  We decided to break the trip up by staying the night at the 1/2 way point, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

On our first night there we visited the Petronas Twin Towers, quite recognizeable because they are the tallest twin towers in the world...and therefore, have been featured in many, many movies.

Some facts:  It has 88 levels.  The skyway bridge is located on levels 41 and 42.  The observation deck is located on level 86.  They can be visited, for 2 adults and 4 children is would cost approximately (after conversion) US $100.  It was tempting.  The height of each tower is 452 meters above street level (which is 1482.94 feet).  The exterior boasts multi-faceted walls of 33,000 stainless steel and 55,000 glass panels, plus stainless steel visors.

At the base of the Towers is a mall.  Outside of the mall is a big open pavilion, a water feature area, and a very nice walking/jogging park:
