We drove around the south side of the park (about 2-ish hours) to get to the east entrances (as the Going-to-the-Sun Road was still closed the day before). We had a decent breakfast in East Glacier Park Village at The Whistle Stop Restaurant.
From East Glacier Park Village (where we also got gas) we drove past the two Medicine Lakes to the Many Glaciers park entrance.
We arrived at the Many Glacier park entrance. While driving down the road, we had a grizzly bear pass in front of the car in front of us. Due to the chaotic-ness of getting the camera out, rolling the window down, and zooming all at the same time, we missed the shot.
We continued on to the east entrance of Glacier National Park, to find that the Going-to-the-Sun Road had opened that morning. So, we drove it all the way back to the west entrance. We had the chance to stop at Bird Island, study Jackson Glacier, hike around Schmidt's Creek, and drive through tunnels.
We also stopped at Logan's Pass (where we played in the snow) and stop at the Weeping Wall (mountainsides with numerous waterfalls).
We stopped alongside another creek with large boulders. The kids were fascinated with Jeremy's sunglasses, which take the sun's reflection away from the top of the water and therefore allows you to see deeper below the water...which appeared to possibly be 15 feet deep.
We had dinner in Kallispell (about 30 minutes away) at ScottiBelli's Ristorante. It had incredible Italian food!
