Barcelona

For this year's Singapore American School High School interim class, Allison and a group of 18 other freshman to seniors, spent one week in Barcelona on a language immersion trip.

The itinerary:
Sat., Feb. 13--land in the morning, chocolate con churros at Petrixol, walk down Las Ramblas to Maremagnum, la Barceloneta, etc., visit Boqueria market, pick up luggage at language school, spend time and lunch with host family, attend soccer match (Barcelona vs. Celta)
Sun., Feb. 14--learn how to flamenco, lunch at school, visit historic route in medieval area (Cathedral, Born)
Mon., Feb. 15--Spanish lessons, lunch, guided visit to Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell
Tues., Feb. 16--Spanish lessons, lunch at school, Girona medieval city, shopping
Wed., Feb. 17--Spanish lessons, lunch, Museum of Modern Art in Catalonia (MNAC) in Montjuic, views from Arenas De Barcelona
Thurs., Feb. 18--Spanish lessons, lunch, explore Roman ruins, shopping, Tapas
Fri., Feb. 19--airport
Sat., Feb. 20--arrive in Singapore

More details to come (fingers crossed), but she:  loved the chocolate con churros (they quickly learned that they could take the extra chocolate in a paper bowl and go to the grocery store to buy lots of out of season, but delicious strawberries, for 5 Euro and dip in the bowl), thought the light was amazing inside the Sagrada Familia, loved the view from Arenas De Barcelona, thought the soccer match was exciting (Barcelona currently has the three best stryker's in the world--we haven't told Parker she went), isn't as fluent as she "thought" she was, thought the veal was awesome, and enjoyed the weather (cool and cold with sun, but not freezing).
