We enjoyed 3 hours at the Sydney Sea Life Aquarium. I purchased the tickets online and saved 10% at $159.40. When we arrived, I decided to add the glass bottom boat experience for an additional $90 for all of us. The glass bottom boat is a 30-minute guided tour cruising along the top of their largest aquarium (which is gigantic) learning about the fish and sharks and getting to throw food in at the end. I am glad we passed on the scuba diving, as you only swim around in a very small, permanently fixed, small enclosed glass box that looks out at the fish.
We had lunch across the Harbor at the Hard Rock Cafe'. Three adults, three kids, one appetizer and six drinks is $150. At the pharmacy in the mall where the restaurant is, we picked up Claritin (or locally spelled Claratyn with an unfamiliar peach flavor) to help clear up McKenna's stuffiness. We soaked up the sun in the area. We opted not to watch an Imax movie (apparently the largest in the world) due to the cost (may have been $30/person?) and that they didn't have any really good kids' choices.
We had reserved 2 paddle boats in the Harbor at the Santa Paddle Boats. We paid $40 for 25 minutes on two. It was located in the Darling Harbor Marina in front of the Cockle Bay Wharf.
We had gelato at Gelatissimo (at the bottom of the IMAX building) for $30. We decided to pass the next several hours at the fun Darling Quarter playground just behind the wharf (there's a McDonald's right there). IT has a zipline, a web, swings, and rope climb with slide. It also has a little kid water/splash area and a grassy area that plays holiday movies each evening (or weekend evening) during most of December.
We went back to the harbor and grabbed a couple of Subway sandwiches and a drink and found a spot along the few steps that surround the bay for the annual Christmas Eve Fireworks at 9:00 (during December they also do them every Saturday night).
