Jeremy's Grandma

Friday, December 28--We spent some time going down to Palm Desert to see Jeremy's 94-year-old grandma, Betty Smith.  She spends most of her time sleeping, so we only spent about 20-30 minutes with her.  We also spent some time with Jeremy's aunt Randy and uncle Brad.

On the way over we stopped for lunch at one of our long-time favorite restaurants, Rosa Maria's.  We had gotten up late, out the door longer than usually takes us, spent longer than planned on lunch, and the drive was a little longer due to congestion.  So, we ended up leaving Palm Desert several hours later than we had planned.  Therefore, when we arrived at Joshua Tree National Park, the sun was just setting.  We missed being able to hike around. We drove it in the dark anyways and had dinner at Cracker Barrel.
