Parker turned 11 on Tuesday, September 12! They sang "Happy Birthday" to him in class and read his name over the school intercom announcements. For dinner (typical choice for each child is to choose a place to eat out or a specific meal to make at home) Parker wanted canned ravioli, applesauce, and milk...which was switched to Root Beer. He also requested Jeremy's favorite dessert: a mixture of vanilla ice cream, crushed Oreo's, and Cool Whip. He got money from Grandma and Grandpa Wood as well and Grandma Pam and PaPa Dave. At home, we received the much requested "Splatoon" game for the WiiU as well as a Lego set and a framed poster of a race car.
Not part of his birthday, but definitely a surprise, we brought home a dog with us on the way home from work. Her name is Rajah, she is almost four years old, and is a pit but/chocolate lab mix. It is a complex story, and we expect that she may only be with us for 1-3 months. We will see.
On Saturday, Parker had several classmates over at the town bowling alley for a party with them.
