Trip Day 4-Bangkok, Thailand

We were up and back at the airport in Beijing and on the way to Bangkok.  We had a 6:30 a.m. flight that lasted 5-1/2 hours.  Because of our 72-hour No Fee Chinese visa's, we had to visit another country.  We'd originally chosen Chiang Mai, Thailand.  The problem with this is that there was not a direct route there.  Our options were a layover in another Chinese city, nullifying our visa requirements; back to Singapore, probably nullifying our requirements and definitely putting us in the air all day; or Bangkok.  We chose Bangkok and decided to spend 24 hours there.  However, by now Madison had a very nasty sounding cold and Jeremy looked like he had a pretty serious case of something resembling the flu.  Upon arriving in Bangkok, we skipped our first planned event of visiting the Jim Thompson house.  We filled it in with some other indulgences.  We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard Bangkok.  It was conveniently located to the couple/few things that we had wanted to do.  It is a less than 15 minute walk to Central World Mall.  I think I could live in Bangkok if we lived near this mall.  It had a Jim Thompson and a Cath Cardston in addition to what pictures I included.  It also had a good variety of expat-likeable restaurants.

Have never seen a Hello Kitty bow on a McDonald's sign...
Have never tried McNugget Plum Sauce...
Hadn't shopped in the VERY popular NaRaYa (in which cameras are not allowed inside)...
Hadn't had Dairy Queen or Dunkin Donuts in forever...
Had quite possibly never had both at the same time, and for dinner...
We did actually feed them some food back at the hotel executive lounge.  Dinner there included salad, breads, "elegant" fish sticks, juices, and sodas.  We swam in the outdoor pool as well.
