Forbidden City--built 1406 to 1420 and comprising of 980 buildings. A series of courtyards, lined up front to back with numerous buildings inside and around. Sometimes I took pictures of archways just to let myself know that we were entering another courtyard. I was impressed with the reasons for some of the buildings (i.e., to get dressed, to drink tea, etc.). We didn't think that our kids would be impressed so we told our guide that his job was to just walk us through from one end to the other...virtually no stopping:
