Formula One Singapore

Parker and I went!!!  We went on the second (of three) days and got the Zone 4 Walk-about tickets.  We took a taxi down and back.  Gates opened at 3:00.  We strolled through the tents set up selling the official guide book, official race gear, official team merchandise, and packages of rain ponchos and ear plugs.  We bought almost everything.  The TRX cars were racing when we got there.  We watched from a sideline, then found a good stand to sit and stand at to watch the Porche's warm up and then race.  After that, the Formula One cars had their warm up.  At this point, Parker was ready to eat.  We had burritos, cheeseburgers, chips and salsa, fries, and an eclair.  We sat in the Pandang, right in the middle of the course and watched the rest on the big screen there.  Parker called it a night at about 9:15.  Seeing that the grass had been itching him and that Maroon 5 (that night's entertainment) didn't start until after 11:00, I called it a night too.  Great fun, though!  What is unique about this race is that it is the only one on the circuit that is done at night.  Additionally, it is held in downtown Singapore.  With more than 6 million people already on a relatively small island, to hold it in the "downtown" area is impressive.  Workers began setting up the fencing and guard rails more than 2 months in advance.

Photos from that night posted on the official website later:
